Bristol police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in connection with a robbery that happened last night.
According to a press release from the Bristol Police Department, Sandeep Singh of Bristol was charged with third degree robbery and sixth degree larceny. At 11:35 last night, officers responded to the vicinity of 105 West Street where they discovered that a 45-year-old woman had her cell phone taken away, the release said. Although the woman tried to take the phone back, the suspect pushed her to the ground, the release said.
The victim was not hurt, according to the release.
After the victim gave police a description of the suspect, an officer found a man matching that description on North Main Street early Friday morning, the release said. The suspect was found in possession of the stolen cell phone and was arrested immediately, the release said.
Singh was held on a $35,000 bond for arraignment at Bristol Superior Court today.
